Patch Notes

New systems, balance changes, and fixes from the persistent world of Among Demons.

Latest update

Patch 5 (Current)

  • Added a skippable account tutorial that shows every hunter how to explore, arrange melee and ranged teams, complete the Fight, Hunt, and Claim loop, enter a Dungeon, and extract Echoes. Its prompts now advance from real game actions, with one-time Summon, Training, and post-level-up Skill Tree tips. World boss narration stays quiet during the guide, its navigation highlights are more precise, and its mobile prompts leave the controls they describe visible. The journey now continues from Bag into Collection and provides a summon-ready starter Echo plus a one-time Soul top-up for the first Training attempt. Hunt rewards are claimed after the Dungeon and Training steps, so there is no early wait, and transition messages remain until you choose to continue. The main tutorial can be replayed from Settings at any time.
  • Added four achievements: One Voice Remains for defeating The Anomaly, The Well Whispers Back for receiving a Whispering Well buff, The Number for reaching level 666, and Crowned in Hell for reaching Demonic rank.
  • The maximum hunter level is now 666. At max level, the XP bar stays full and shows Max level.
  • Reduced the Altar of Many Voices offering from 10,000 to 5,000 Souls.
  • Added a back button beside the Bag title so you can return to the previous page.
  • Returning to the World map from Bag now restores the map correctly.
  • Wins and Losses are now centered correctly in Duel standings.
  • Added a Dungeon setting to resolve fights automatically. It skips combat playback but still shows Victory or Defeat, and the fight log and full replay remain available afterward.
  • Added a Dungeon setting to skip the Recruit First warning when continuing with open team slots.
  • Dungeon Hand upgrade markers now require at least two strictly higher visible stats. Tied stats no longer make a card look better than your current demon.
  • Moved Do not show winning ambushes into the World settings, directly below Boss narration.
  • World PvP duels now show the Ranked Points update again after the fight, without an Anomaly Altar error interrupting the result.
  • Mythic Echoes awarded for defeating The Anomaly now come from species missing from your collection whenever any remain.
  • Improved the account tutorial with a permanent nearby Common Baobaw Hunt spot available to every hunter, a clear ambush confirmation before combat, reliable melee and ranged formation guidance, mobile-safe World panel prompts, quieter Dungeon fights, and a post-training confirmation that waits for the full result animation. Travel guidance now stays above its map point, Hunt updates no longer interrupt tutorial buttons, and Summon guidance waits for the completed result. The Dungeon now explains fighting deeper and extracting safely as two clear choices, closed mobile extraction trays can always be reopened, and Training returns directly to the Hunt claim step. Training guidance now stays hidden while its result animation resolves, the World destination glow is brighter and clearer below its prompt, and the final tutorial message is centered. Tutorial prompts now use their own subtle gold styling so they remain easy to distinguish from normal game panels and actions. The gold treatment stays restrained, with flatter buttons and no bright corner glow.

Patch 4

  • Hunter profiles now show the correct buffed combat stat for AOE, Poison, Healing, and Thorns demons.
  • Demon cards now use a flame for type 4 AOE, bows for types 2, 6, and 11, flasks for Poison, and swords for melee attacks.
  • Demon card rarity markers now have distinct shapes, from a Common triangle through a Legendary hexagon and Mythic starburst.
  • Clicking your hunter on the World map now clears the selected route instead of opening Camp, and new rock formations block several nearby areas.
  • Added the Altar of Many Voices at Area 4, 0. Offer 10,000 Souls to face The Anomaly, a World boss that channels all eleven demon types and always has Thorns. Each victory has a 25% chance to award a random Mythic Echo, with one guaranteed every fourth victory without an Echo.
  • Added a World setting that can mute or unmute boss narration, overriding the separate 24-hour mute from the boss dialog.
  • Ranked standings now focus on hunter and rank without a Ranked Floor column.
  • Duel standings now show separate Wins and Losses columns instead of Top Floor and Souls.

Patch 3

  • Overfull Dungeon hands now show scroll buttons on any screen where the cards do not fit.
  • Escaping or defeating a Ranked rival now returns you to preparation for the next floor instead of starting the next fight immediately. Your previous hand stays available.
  • The Camp profile panel now scrolls its active buffs when they do not fit.
  • Siegeborn now grants +25% AOE Damage and +25% Health.
  • Iron ranks now use their dark brown rank color instead of grey.
  • Overflow Healing shields now appear as a white section on the right side of health bars, sized in proportion to health and shield strength.
  • Ranked player snapshots are exempt from Dungeon Terror and fight with only the stats and buffs captured from that player.
Previous update

Patch 2

  • Infinity nodes in the Skill Tree now have color-matched + buttons for adding several points at once. The Add Points window remembers your last amount.
  • Ranked rivals now show Continue immediately, then let you fight or try to run with a 70% chance to reach the next floor at the cost of Ranked Points. A failed escape starts the fight.
  • The Ranked choice window now uses the Dungeon's dark teal and gold colors, with escape odds shown directly inside the Run button.
  • Ranked encounters now replace the normal fight on Dungeon floors 30, 40, 50, and every ten floors after that when a rival is available.
  • Rival teams preserve the hunter's exact build from that floor and are chosen from hunters within five levels and 200 Ranked Points. If no close rival is available, the run continues.
  • You can still extract when a ranked rival appears. Fight wins continue the run, fight losses end it, and both update your Ranked Points.
  • Rival fights now show the hunter's name and rank, a red-glowing enemy formation, and a quick Ranked Points result before continuing.
  • The standalone Ranked mode has been retired, while ranks, points, and the Ranked leaderboard remain.
  • Added Iron III, Iron II, and Iron I below Bronze for hunters who fall under 800 Ranked Points.
  • Ranked standings and run histories have been reset for this fresh start.
  • Rematches against the same hunter now require a five-minute wait.
